And don't forget your friendly map store! While there are far fewer
than in years past they do still exist, both in brick-mortar and
on-line. They remain a place where you can get maps for those
dream-inspiring foreign locales such as Marrakech, Angor Wat, and Machu
Picchu.

Our sales of Rand McNally and Kappa maps are on the rise after a few
years of steady decline. Rand, after allowing about 400 city maps
and street atlases to go out of print in the past 5 years has decided
that they want to do new editions of nearly 100 of those city
maps. They have contracted with Guy Johnson of Vancouver to produce
the new editions to Rand McNally specs. Guy has been producing maps
for Universal Maps and other map companies for many years.

Kappa Map Group, who bought ADC, American Map, Hagstrom, Mapsco, and
Universal Map, is now producing 10+ new editions and new titles each
month, as well as reprinting numerous maps that have been out of
stock for many months or years. For example they produced 18 new
editions/new titles in June and 25 new editions/new titles in May.
