Mr. Docktor:

My name is Michael Domaratz. I work for the US Geological Survey (USGS), a bureau in the US Department of the Interior.

I'm working on a project related to engravings that were used to print old USGS topographic and geologic maps, and am seeking insights about these artifacts. In particular, I'm looking into interest that might exist outside of the Federal Government in these artifacts.

One group that might have interest is members of map societies, and perhaps the societies themselves. Do you, or another member of the Council of North American Map Societies, have time to talk about such artifacts? The conversation might take as long as 30 minutes.

If so, please let me know the name of the person I should telephone, the number I should call, and the best days and times of day to call. Email is the simplest way to reach me.

Thank you in advance for your reply.
