Hi, all,
Yes, this is a reposting. We have cast the job in a way that highlights
that we are looking for an innovator to help us design a cutting edge
research facility to handle paper historical maps, digital historical
imagery, and an eye toward combining them with GIS information and
possibly other technologies such as text mining in the digital
humanities. The room is currently being designed and will house the
David Rumsey Map Collection, the Norwich Africa Map Collection, the
Caroline Batchelor Africa Map Collection as well as Stanford's
antiquarian collection both from Special Collections and Branner's rare
map collection.
It's going to be an exciting well-funded initiative with a dedicated
scanning lab (already in production) and a technology assistant to help
with projects.
I urge you all to take a look and apply!
Best,
Julie

This looks familiar, is this a reposting of this opening?
