Dear Colleagues,

New or updated genomic data are now available for two ciliates:

First, NCBI has processed and released the updated annotated scaffolds for the WGS project: PID:
12564 Tetrahymena thermophila SB210, AAGF00000000, GG662205-GG663362. At this
location
(ftp://ftp.tigr.org/pub/data/Eukaryotic_Projects/t_thermophila/annotation_dbs/genbank/), you
will now find for download two tables, one cross-referencing TIGR scaffold ids (e.g. scf_8253803)
to their NCBI accession numbers, the other providing a summary of annotation data on all 24,725
current gene models. Many thanks to Kevin Galinsky and Mathangi Thiagarajan for handling the
torturous NCBI submission procedure!

Second, we have made a preliminary release of the shotgun assembly of the parasitic ciliate
Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, a.k.a. “Ich”, and associated endosymbiotic bacteria. The ftp location
can be found here: http://www.jcvi.org/cms/research/projects/ich/overview/. Also, please note
the data release policy. Many thanks to Daniel Brami and Justin Johnson for producing this
assembly! The Ich and symbiont genomes are now in the process of closure and annotation.
Further releases and NCBI submission will follow.

Regards,
Bob Coyne
