Another large batch of Tetrahymena ESTs have been added to the PEPdb PUB
(http://amoebidia.bcm.umontreal.ca/public/pepdb/agrm.php) database. There
are now a total of about 33,000 ESTs from vegetative and conjugation
libraries in PEPdb PUB. About 21,000 of these are from recent sequencing
of a library made from a pool of RNA from 3h, 6h, and 10h of conjugation.
In total, there are about 8600 unique clusters in PEPdb. In terms of
redundancy, the conjugating cell library is by far the highest quality
library.

Overall statistics and various overviews of the analysis are available on
the site. This morning, there was a slight glitsch in the graphical
representation of the ESTs making up the clusters but this should be
resolved soon. Individual ESTs can be downloaded but the complete set of
ESTs cannot be downloaded as a batch. However, the batch can be BLASTed on
AnaBench (link from Pepdb PUB). Also, the sequences have been submitted
to GenBank and they should be available there very soon. Shortly after
that happens, TtGI at TIGR will be updated to include these sequences.

All of the Tetrahymena data are freely available to be accessed and used
by the community with no restrictions, but please read the general data
release policy on the PEPdb PUB home page. Please acknowledge PEP when
using these data. Most of these sequences including all from the
conjugation library were sequenced at TIGR in collaboration with Jane
Carlton. This should be included in any acknowledgement.

Please let Jyoti Garg in my lab ([log in to unmask]) or myself know if you
have any questions or comments.

Happy hunting!

     Ron
