This seems like a good project for WAML members to contribute to. We could host a list of actual sites (not links to other incomplete lists) on the WAML website. I'd be glad to put a page together...
WAML web committee members--your thoughts??
Best,
Janet

Might I pose the broader question- is there a web based guide to sites
hosting digital mapping of all sorts?
wouldn't it be useful? maintain collaboratively by the mapster community?

mapper.acme.com <http://mapper.acme.com> uses the Terraserver tiles
of 1:250K, 1:100K, and
1:24K. They're reprojected to a pseudo Mercator, and quite useful to
me for that very reason.
But does anyone know where the 1:500K USGS state maps can be found
online?
