It gives me great pleasure {I lie a lot...} to announce that Mr.
Christopher J.J. Thiry, late of The New York Public Library, Research
Libraries, Map Division, has been appointed the Map Librarian at the
Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado.
Chris has been instrumental at New York Public Library in setting up
and running our computer mapping workstation. Actually, it was set up
by April Carlucci [and she reads Maps-l, even if she is in London, now
at the British Museum Map Collection, thank you very much!] and Chris
made it grow.
We will miss Chris's computer expertise and inventiveness, not to
mention his sense of humor, his ties, and his skill as a map librarian
extraordinaire.
Now if you guys can count, you know that leaves 2 of us here at the
old NYPL watering hole...send your cards and letters of condolence to
Nancy and Alice.
