International Student Life Announcements
=================================
1. Thanks, due to your response we have decided to have the pool
parties. Come join the ISL students at Legion Pool, located near the
Tate Center. Every Friday night in July, (July 7, 14, 21, and 28) from
7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. you can relax and have fun.

2. The ISL Office is pleased to announce a new plan for international
students to take effect in Fall 2000. This process took some time this
year, but the ISL and OIE Offices have asked the Health Center to make
changes for next year by asking for a new plan for international
students. This plan will be available in Fall 2000, and we hope that
many international students will begin using this plan. This plan is
very similar to the one that international students at Georgia State
University are currently using this year and offers similar benefits
that alternate plans have such as lower premiums and increases in
medical evacuation and repatriation. The ISL staff listened to your
concerns based on the international needs assessment survey results that
indicated the dissatisfaction with the current health insurance plans at
UGA.

If you would like to look at the proposed draft of this plan, come to
the ISL Office and look over the plan's benefits and other information.
Please see Jackie, the ISL secretary to obtain the insurance plan copy.
The deadline to submit changes or additional suggestions to the Health
Center about this plan is May 23, 2000. The cost will be $572 per year,
and this plan will be available, in conjunction with two other plans
(high option and low option plans). Alternate health insurance will
still be accepted; however, the ISL and OIE Offices would like to
recommend that you start using the international student plan for next
year.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact
Saehee Chang at
542-5867.

3. Going overseas? You can come by the office and pick up coupons for
$50 off international flights and $20 off the Eurail pass. The coupon
has no restrictions and is valid for up to 10 tickets or passes.
