We have a 3 years Research Fellow (Post Doc) Cropping Systems Research
vacancy (expected to start in July 2010) at The University of Queensland
(QAAFI), Toowoomba, Australia.

The role: The successful appointee will form part of a team of Researchers
based in Toowoomba or Gatton producing recommendations for sorghum, wheat
and maize growers of the Northern GRDC Region on how to better match
agronomic management recommendations.  Duties will include but are not
limited to: Evaluating new cultivars in two Queensland agro-ecologies,
monitoring on-station cereal trials and delivering regional and seasonal
relevant agronomic recommendations.

The person: Applicants should possess a PhD in the area of Crop
Eco-Physiology or Applied Climate Risk Management, and produce evidence of
a contribution to research by producing quality journal articles in top
agricultural journals. You should also have the ability to apply the
principles of crop eco-physiology to produce practical recommendations for
wheat, maize and sorghum farmers. In addition, the successful applicant
will display a high level of communication and interpersonal skills; relate
well to people at all levels; and is able to demonstrate very good writing
ability.


RemunerationThis is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 3 years at
Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $58,763.47
- $79,708.50 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%
(total package will be in the range $68,753.26 - $93,258.95 p.a.).
