Everyone -
Perhaps this URL may be stable (using Google) : I can find a page
for 1990 (http://www.census.gov/main/www/cen1990.html ) - clicking on
"100 Percent data - Summary Tape File 1" and "Sample Data - Summary Tape
file 3" - the missing tab for 1990 appears. I can get to the data sets.
Thanks, Hallie, for the heads-up about this.

The new American Factfinder is live and you may not like it.
The Census Bureau has removed the 1990 Census tab from the AFF search.
Read the attached email below as to the Bureau's logic. I also couldn't
find Olympia, WA and Seattle, WA on the new AFF search page.
Please be sure to send emails to your Census Bureau regional office and
complain bitterly about it so the Bureau can do something about it.

We had a presentation on the new Census products by a speaker from the
Atlanta Regional Office of the Census Bureau at our annual meeting of
Georgia Depository Libraries last month. According to our speaker,
while the 1990 data is still hosted on the Census servers & still
accessible, you will have to use Google to find it; she wasn't sure why
the Census Bureau chose to take it off of American FactFinder. Needless
to say, this caused a great deal of consternation amongst the government
documents librarians present & will undoubtedly cause commotion amongst
the wider documents community as the word spreads. Hopefully the Census
Bureau will rethink their decision soon.

Hello,
I notice that the new American Factfinder went live today. I am finding
it far from user friendly. It might be really useful for summary
statistics (how many in my county), I am not finding it very useful for
GIS data. I will be logging into the web conference this afternoon.
