Check out the Western Association of Map Libraries (WAML) Map Librarian's Toolbox - it has information about the weight of map cases:

Subject: Weight of Map Cases
Ah, the joys of facilities planning for an older building! As we are
planning to rearrange our University Archives area, we need to know about
the weights of the archival materials and their containers. So once
again, I am asking for help.
We have a number of map containers, filled to various amounts. Is there
an average weight for a 5-drawer unit map case, perhaps even a weight per
square foot? I can find out the weight of empty cases, but filled is a
bit harder.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
Larry
