Hello,
The late John Tedrow was a soil scientist at Rutgers for many, many
decades and carried out extensive research in the Arctic.
There is a glacier named in his honor (Tedrow Glacier) and it appears that
he named a lake in Northern Greenland that according to his notes was,
"Named by J.D.F. Tedrow in 1965. Approved by Danish Board of Geographic
Names ca. 1967. Coordinates: 78 32 N, 70 55 W (translates to 78.5333 N,
-70.91667 W in Decimal Degrees)". He named it Queen's College Lake in
honor of Rutgers College (originally named Queens College).
Colleagues of Dr. Tedrow have looked online to try and find a map showing
Queen's College Lake, or even a gazetteer listing, but with no luck. Does
anyone have a suggestion for sources to consult or websites to check?
Thank you, Mike
