After having been confronted with many examples, amongst others through
"An atlas of Cyberspace" I have put a notice on the internet under the
title "Libraries mapped, a question of research!" on
http://persons.kb.nl/jsmits/librariesmapped.html
I hope that this notice provokes colleagues, librarians as well as map
librarians and scholars, to think about new visual ways of presenting a
collection on the Internet. Whether this is a map collection, a
text-based library collection or an archives collection doesn't really
matter as the technologies researched till now are equally applicable to
all those collections.
I hope that some are so much provoked that they are willing to write an
article concerning this topic. For information see the head of the
notice.
Otherwise I hope it leads to discussions and imaginative comments.
With kind regards,,
