Position Description
 
Position Available:  Ph.D. assistantship (in Agricultural Engineering,
Forestry, or Agroforestry) or Post Doc
 
Duties:  Be a member of a multidisciplinary research team developing a
system to model the production of soybeans and corn under the influence of
a shelterbelt;  organize data on trees, crop production, and
micrometeorology; predict crop yield under shelter and evaluate results;
adjust models, as needed, to improve predictions; perform some field work
related to the project; and help in project related activities, such as
proposal preparation, report writing, manuscripts, support of other
modeling efforts
 
Qualifications:  Extensive computer experience, including running
moderately complex models and programing; some experience with development
and validation of computer models; background in crop modeling, agronomy,
meteorology, or forestry.
 
Starting date:  Feb. 15 or later
 
Compensation:  Dependent upon qualifications.
