International Student Life events

1.  October 17, 2003.  International Coffee Hour.  Join Korean Traditional
Play and
Prince Avenue Baptist Church as they host this week's coffee.
Explore the beautiful country of Korea and enjoy the culture.  Free cultural
experience, food and drinks.  Coffee provided by Jittery Joe's Roasting
Company.  11:30 am - 12:30 pm in the Memorial Hall Ballroom.

2.  October 18, 2003.  "Truly Southeast Asia Ethnic Night: A night of
cultural paradise."  Come join the Malaysian Student Association, the Thai
Student Association, the Indonesian Student Association and the Filipino
American Student Association for a night of delicious home-cooked dishes,
dances, performances and all things fun. Tickets are $5 for students and $8
for non-student.   Date: October 18th, 2003 (Saturday).   Venue: Tate
Center, Georgia Hall A&B.  The doors open at 6 pm. Tickets are available at

3.  October 21, 2003.  Beyond Georgia.  Brazilian (Rio de Janeiro)
International Service Program.  Volunteer period May 12 - May 20, 2003.

4.  The 2nd Annual World Cup Soccer Tournament sponsored by ISL and the UGA
Student Government Association will be held on Sunday, Oct 26th, 2003, from
10 am-5 pm.   Pick up your application to make your World Cup team at the
Tate Info Desk - the winning team will be rewarded, and the top two teams
(no matter who wins) will compete in a rematch during International
Education Week!  A flyer for the event can be viewed at

5.  If you are a December 2003 Graduate, you are invited to participate in
the International Student Life Graduation Ceremony.  The Ceremony will be
held on Friday, December 19, 2003 at 3:00 p.m.  Participation in the
ceremony is free.  Call the ISL office at 542-5867 to sign up.

6.  Adorn your graduation robe at the ISL graduation ceremony with a
beautiful international satin sash, elegantly designed with your country
flag and colors.  Go by the display case in the Tate Student Center lobby to
view sashes from China, India and Korea, others countries are available.
Orders must be received by Friday, November 7, 2003, for December graduates.
