In response to Ross Godden's question about crop models other than annual
type grasses :
We currently have models for soybean, peanut, dry bean, cassava, aroids,
potato, chickpea, sunflower, and tomato (under development). All these
crops are grown in the tropics. I assume that you mean rice, corn, wheat,
barley, millet, and sorghum for the annual "type grasses" models.
In response to Ricardo Braga's questions:
1. Uncertainty parameters. We currently do not have uncertainty parameters
related to model calibration. However, we do include them in our management
scenario applications. The models will not show significant difference
between a temperature of 14.5 and 14.9 C. By the way, in the USA all
temperature reports from Coop stations are reported as whole numbers !
2. Other models. See response to Ross Godden's question.
3.4 We are currently working on developing technical documentation for the
models. Please also check the references supplied with the models, as it
includes many publications in which sections of the models have been
documented. Unfortunately many of these have been published as chapters or
proceedings.
5. With respect to cultivar type etc. Check the user's guides for the
specific models or the appendices in chapter 2, volume 2 of DSSAT V3.
