An excellent beginning shell book for Florida (and most Carolina shells
will be found here too) is Florida's Fabulous Seashells. It's available
throughout Florida, less than $20, a 9 X 12 book with wonderful information
and great photos. It's not scientifically arranged but will start you on
learning about shells, their habitats and habits and does have scientific
names along with the local, colloquial names of shells.
