Carolus Linneus really wanted to honor his undeserving brother, Rayus
Linneaus. This wastrel had embarrased the family and was known to cavort
with evil companions on street corners. But Carolus still loved
him----so he remembered his half-assed brother as Distortio anus, L,
1758.
