Thanks so much.
I feel so stupid for starting a thread on the list asking for something I
know intuitively. BUT.......on another note
Having said that, although I don't collect land shells (my wife is always
making fun of me for picking them up off of the streets, walls, and other
non-mollusk areas and returning them to a vegetated area) I did see a really
cool snail while looking at a house here in San Diego. As we were trying to
look like a reasonable, professional, intelligent couple, I refrained form
picking it up and getting all Ga Ga over it. Haven't seen one since.
If I remember all of the Latin stuff on the list some time back, it was a
flat spiral which should translate to planorbis or similar. Anyone in the
area know the snail?
