Dear Conchlers,
sorry, the first mail was without message. I do have
in my collection and in the museum collection a few
albinotic specimens of Laciniaria plicata and
from two other species of Clausiliidae. Also a
albinotic specimen from Cochlostoma septemspirale
In old collection, also when a shell was bleached
through sun or other circumstances they noted
albinistic. But indeed they weren't albinistic, only
bleached. This makes a great difference, but the
Clausiliidae could be really albinistic. Bleached
shell by sun don't have a glaze as albinistic
Clausiliidae and Cochlostomatidae. Among Kosicia
intermedia there are also nearly white shells, but
they aren't albinistic.
An interesting discussion.
with best shelling greetings
Helmut
