Having trouble finding all those "fine stores" that sell that well known
preservative "Chiton Goop"? Never fear - you can make your own!! Just
mix 50/50 ethanol (the 90% kind works best, but 70% will do in a pinch)
and heavy glycerin, shaken not stirred (they mix together well). Get
your chitons flat by either tying them onto a little flat stick, or
other means, then pour it over them. Marinate for a couple of weeks,
and your little beasties will stay well-preserved and flexible for many years!
