In Nord East Atlantic:
From the Murmansk area and southwards along the Scandinavian coast, to
S. Kattegat, British Isles, Bay of Biscay and North and south
Portugal. It occurs in the
Faroes, S, W and N. Iceland and SE Greenalnd.
Records from Mediterranean, Alboran Sea and Morocco are affected by
misindentification
with Colus jeffreysianus.
