Hi,
An old subject on conch-l. Use mineral spirits. Soak for a while and
scrub. Then wash in dish washing liquid soap and water to get rid of the
mineral spirts ie de-grease the shell. After drying use any of the
concoctions that will surely be suggested on this server to preserve the
shell.
