I have been told it has to do with the processing of your server. I often
get answers to emails that never show up. I can only find them by searching
the Conch-L archives. All a bit of a mystery.

Subject: [CONCH-L] replies coming BEFORE original postings
>Just noticed that a shell I have listed as Siphonalia pfeifferi for
>many years is listed in the Compendium of Seashells as S. pfefferi.
>It isn't a typo because the author specifically says that pfeifferi
>is a misspelling. So, this would indicate that the species was
>named after someone named Pfeffer. I know who Pfeiffer is, but who
>is Pfeffer??
Why am I often getting replies before the original postings,
sometimes ahead by hours?
