From American Malacologists, First Edition: Webb, Walter Freeman, born
5/28/1869. Became America's largest shell dealer, having about 25,000
species in stock in 1930. Died June 1957. There is quite a long paragraph
giving other biographical information.
I also just happen to have one of Mr. Webb's catalogs on the shelf right
next to me. It's the fifth edition but unfortunately it doesn't have a date
on it. Some sample prices:
