The vast majority of the 700+ mollusc species Carl von Linneus
described, are of course quite common - the ones most likely to be
available to a researcher in the 18th century. However, i am wondering
if any of them are in fact uncommon species which he was fortunate
enough to have been forwarded a specimen, by his wide-ranging troop of
correspondents..... anyone know if this is the case?
