I know the conchological differences between these two species, but what I
haven't found yet is any kind of study on the soft parts which would
definitively separate these two taxa. Has there ever been a genetic or DNA
study? A search on the web has come up empty so far. Despite proponents
insisting these are two separate species, shell differences are not enough
to justify this when there are plenty of specimens to study.
