When I was doing some minerals exploration work in Papau New Guinea in the
mid 1980's I had a chance to go to Manus Island. The green snail was so
"rare" that we had trouble with them crawling into our equipment, backpacks
and being stepped on as we walked through the jungle (semi-trails)!!
