Doug,
I do not have any of the shells that you are interested in but you might
want to look at a technique that was described which uses chlorine and UV
light to bring out color patterns in fossil shells. The citation is
Katherine Kamp Krueger, The Use of Ultraviolet Light in the Study of
Fossil Shells. Curator 17(1): 36-49 (1974).
Let me know if you try the technique.
