Once the critters are dried, they can often be restored to something approching their origional color via the
application of silicone spray or something similar: it is not a completely natural look, but it depends upon what you
want to use them for!! Formalin is indeed the best way to get rid of the smell - it takes a few months to get rid of
the mortuary-house odor of the chemical, but it DOES go away in time!!
