A plant and animal can both have the same generic name because they are
covered by two different codes of nomenclature. Animals are covered by
the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, of which the 4th.
edition was just publishd and takes effect 1 Jan 2000. Plants are covered
by a separate code and microorganisms by yet a third. Done have the names
for the botanical and microorganism codes at hand.
