I am preparing a display of shells for the senior center here in Carrollton.
On the top shelf I will have old shell items. One is a "motto" or saying
in an old metal oval frame from the early 1900's which I will share with
the list. It is entitled "Life" and has a small drawing of a baby sitting
in a shell at the edge of the water with a sunburst in the background. Very
small illustration. Anyhow it reads:
LIFE
A dew drop fell
upon a shell;
A ray of sunshine
pierced it there.
The shell grew dry,
the dew drop high
Toward heaven went:
Thus ends life's
care.
