Guess the honour of being the first list members to see in the new
millenium then must belong to Andrew and Barbara, followed by Dawn and me,
followed by Kevin and Paul, Royston Koh and friends, our new Indian member,
all the European members starting with George (or our friend in Israel
whose name I have forgotten and cannot find in the rush of trying to get
the cooking finished), then all you poor Americans and last, but not least,
Don. Dear Don! At least you can follow the reports and quickly change the
date settings on any electrical equipment that has been proven to fail
elsewhere in the world. But I guess, like me, you have lived in the tropics
long enough to know that life goes on without electricity, telephones or
petrol.
