Ross, Baja (baa-haa) California, the land of tofu has had a ban in place for years now , its sort of like shore to 1000 ft
out is closed to shelling, but you can take any fish , sea urchin, or tons of kelp and you just need a license, the only
protected species is this dayglow qrange thing called a garabaldi bass. so idf you hook something that looks like a traffic
cone either throw it back or place it back on the road . ferret

Subject: No more California Collecting??

|> The California Coastal National Monument includes all the islands, rocks, exposed reefs and >pinnacles above the
high-water mark along California's 840-mile coast. The area extends 12 miles >offshore.>
|
|Does anyone know if this the designation of the new California Coastal
|National Monument, which extends to 12 miles offshore, affects
|collecting in that Fun-in-the-sun state? If not, where ARE you allowed
|to collect in CA these days? (Enquiring Minds want to know!)
|
|50 F or so and thundering away in Halifax,
|Ross.
