Peter,
Coan, Scott and Bernard use Entodesma navicula in their recent book Bivalve Seashells of Western North America (2000), available through the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History (see their webpage).

Yes, I agree,

Entodesma saxicola is a lovely beast :-(.
It's not pretty to begin with, but as it dries it adds
to it's unatractiveness by cracking and falling apart
due to its thin shell and shrinking periostracym...yuck.
I have a few, none of which are good specimens.
Also, what is the latest on this species' name?
Harbo calls it Entodesma navicula, but lists synonyms as
Argiodesma sxicola, Entodesma saxicola, Lyonsia saxicola.
What is the current name I should give it on my website?
