As much as I am reluctant to plug the HSN home page, I will.

Hawaiian Shell News (HSN) was a printed magazine of the Hawaiian
Malacological Society (HMS) from 1947 to 1996 when printing costs
exceeding dues created a negative capital future. At that time we
shifted to an internet version, which is always in color and at little
cost, but considerable effort on my part.

The magazine has a number of basic parts, each of which is actually a
home page distributed over the HSN and 2 editor's home pages:
1. Perm Section (the opening home page and general index),
2. Features Section for the current month with copies of the Features
sections of the prior two months retained 3 & 4
5. Month Section for the current month and a copy of the prior month
Month Section retained 6.,
7. Auction Section, a monthly auction of shell related material shells
and books mostly for the benifit of the HMS Scholarship Fund.
8. Terms Section, which is ocassionally added to and has basic
information for shellers about describing shells, taxonomy, shell books,
collecting areas, etc.
9. Rules1 Section which is a reference giving information about
governmental rules concerning collecting shells in a number of countries
and US states
10. RulesH Section which gives a reprint of the official rules
concerning collecting in Hawaii and descriptions of Nature Reserve Areas
and special Fishing Rules areas (Harbors mostly).

We especially welcome articles from all types of collectors on mollusc
subjects.

The opening home page is at URL

Aloha,
