Sir Art your absolutely right , if you ever stepped on a "heel splitter "
with your Alabama sandals {bare feet for you yanks} on you would know why
they are called this. How about the "pistol grip" , now there's another
fitting name.
But we must also remember to at least try to learn the Latin names for as
confused we get with the Latin the malocologist's  get just as confused when
someone writes them for help with a "shark eye". is the shark eye in
question a polinces duplicata or a polinces lewisii that you are referring
to.
Maybe there is a middle ground, learn both names equally as well , this is
my goal , well that and take over the world but that's not for a day or two
yet.....mark
