While some may disagree with Mr. Brosio's opinion, he has every right to
express it, and i am quite shocked by the uncharitable and outright
nasty tone of some of the flames being slung at him.  Not only are these
kinds of posts against the rules of the list, but they are just the type
of uncivil remarks which help to alienate those who may be leaning in
the "shell collecting is a blood sport" direction, but who could still
be persuaded otherwise.
I hope that we can have civilized debates more or less 100% of the time
on Conch-l, where a person's basic right to express an opinion is not
trampled on by sarcastic and caustic resplies.  Even if you fell
offended, this is not the place to express your anger.  At the very
least, please remember that there are several children participating in
our conchological discussions, and i for one wish to keep them around.
