Dear Friends

can anyone tell me the difference between malacologist
and conchologist, please ?

As I know in Italian language there is only one word to
translate either the above : malacologo.

Thanks in advance.

Ciao!!

Maurizio
from Italy.

Roma,
My wife is a collector of shells. She has no interest in the
scientific data tags and computer organization that I make. She is a
collector. Is she a malocologist? I think not. Is she a conchologist? I
don't know. Am I more of a collector than she? Do you have to be in a
club, organization or share your shells? I think that each of us draws a
line on what is a shell collector. What is your opinion and how broad do
you want your study to be?
