I always thought that Janthina would be the perfect name for a sailboat,
perhaps with a lavendar bootstripe and matching sail cover.

I'm pretty sure we are getting a male. I certainly check out author names.

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I adore the idea of the name
Xeno, both as the masculine of Xena and because of my favorite genus. But I
don't think it would work well. Think about puppy training. You don't want
the pup to confuse his name with "NO". Pity, I love that name.

I guess the beauty about naming a new species is you don't have to worry
about your choice confusing the snail.

Once I get the right name, the only problem will be to keep him away from
those tasty operculii.
