One of the best open sources for student support in malacology is COA
itself, through its research grants program. Check
http://data.acnatsci.org/conchnet/coagrant.html for information on how to
get support and look for past grants in that site to get an idea of what
kind of research gets funded. The American Malacological Society (AMS) also
provides student research grants; check
http://data.acnatsci.org/ams/index.html.

Cheers,

José
