Dear Jordan and shell friends,
During my last trip in Cebu I bought some rare Cypraea but I tested all
with Methyl Ethyl Ketone
(is the common nail remover) so I am sure that the Cyp. Sakurai and
Hirasei that I bought are not
fake.
Some dealers didn't allow me to test them and I refuse to buy, as there
are many fake shells there
and must be very careful.
One day a dealer offer me a Cyp. Hirasei with very nice large pattern
when I ask to test it he
refuse, the other day he offer me again the same shell and he agree to
make the test, but when I
saw it the pattern was the half of yesterday and appear the defect on
the dorsum.
Please write me privately the name of the dealer that you bought the
shells in Phuket.

You dealers must have seen this sort of thing before; let
  me tell you, this phony C. sakuraii  looks like the real thing (it is
