For what I know, oophagy (feeding on eggs) is not known in Bittium, or
Cerithiidae. It has been reported for the columbellid Anachis (if I
remember well by Jerry Harasewych) and for the ?buccinid Chauvetia (by
Hergueta et al.): any chance the small critters were Anachis or Chauvetia-like?
(actually, Chauvetia is turriculated and can be somehow similar to Bittium).
