Dear Toni;-
   I think you live in Charleston (The Holy City). Or close. If there was to be a shell museum there, I can think of no better place than the end of Folly Beach Road. I would think the Folly Beach C ofC and Holiday Inn would jump at the chance to support such a viable tourist attraction.
