Now I feel dumb!

The telltale mark of a Caribbean specimen is there in the questionable shells - it is just faint, and there is only a
trace of it deep inside the beak, ergo they can all be from Puerto Rico.  It pays to go over every millimeter of your shells!  I won't make the same mistake again.

(Is my brain still affected from the sight of all of those gorgeous shells at the bourse?)  Could be.
