Hi Peter
Outright synonym for powisii (note double i). Don't buy if it's for
more than powisii price! The smoother form grades... er... smoothly
into the corded form in sculpture as well as color; size varies...
the smallest I have ever seen is a corded Pliocene or even (according
to Arie Janssen, using my pteropods from the same horizon) Miocene
Fijian fossil I collected... can't remember exact size; Gijs
Kronenberg has it at the moment, I think! But it's somewhere in the
vicinity of 20-odd mm. Gijs?

It is possible that "laurenti" is an ecomorph.

Andrew
