Comrades,

1) Shells glued together: I have found that Toluene will dissolve various glues very nicely, and does not seem to harm the shell. It is very volatile and disappears quickly. It will also remove oil deposits. Toluene is sold as a solvent for fiberglass resin, so you can get it at boat shops, car body supplies places and some craft shops. A Perotrochus vicdani I bought once that had been bust and glued together in the Philippines just fell apart once I dipped it in Toluene, allowing a more careful rebuild.

2). Number of postings per person per day - I vote to reduce this to one. That way, everyone would have to sit on it for a bit, in case some other hot topic arrived later in the day that they couldn't bear to leave unaddressed for even a few hours.

Cheers,

PC.
