What a mess , plastic should dissolve in lacquer thinner(please perform this
method outdoors as the fumes are highly flammable. lacquer thinner is almost
pH neutral so there shouldn't be a problem with etching. also hot water may
cause the plastic to be soft enough to remove if you don't want to use
lacquer thinner.good luck,
