Well, the best place to find shells in São Paulo is....my office!

The best spot for shelling in São Paulo is Ilhabela, about 300 km north.
From there you can drive to Rio as well. However, diving or snorkelling this
time of the year requires courage. It is winter time here....

Beachcombing used to be good in several places 20 years ago when we could
drive on deserted beaches. Now all are closed and transformed into huge
condominiums.

In Rio you would find better places as Cabo Frio, Buzios and other beaches.
Those places are quite cold too.
