When I lived in Tucson, the local folks called Puerto Penasco "Rocky Point", although I don't remember many rocks. It was at the northernmost area of the Gulf of California and supposedly the closest place on the Gulf from Tucson.

Puerto Penasco, on Cholla Bay, is a popular resort area in Sonora, Mexico
(Gulf of California). Black Mountain is a local attraction for hiking and
panoramic viewing, part of the Pinacate Mountains I believe.

Man's attitude toward nature is today critically important simply because we have now acquired a fateful power to alter and destroy nature.
